Top 7 ideas for exercising with your dog…
1.Walking
Always a favourite, its easy, relaxing and everyone can go at their own pace. It’s a great way to just get those joints and bones moving. Take your dog to the local park or just along the street. Make sure you give your dog time to stop, wander and sniff around.
2.Running
This is a great way to increase heart rates, and start losing fat fast! Always start off with a slow jog first, and build up to your and your dogs level of fitness.
3.Agility Equipment
When you’re out walking use obstacles like benches, trees, ditches and logs for your dog to jump over, crawl under or balance on. Set up low hurdles (use a broomstick across two objects), tunnels (available from pet shops or use cardboard boxes) and a slalom course (objects set one yard apart) to exercise your dog.
Go to your nearest dog off leash park that provides agility equipment and let your go for it!
4.Hide and Seek
Hide and seek is a great fun game to play at home, even the kids can do this one! Hide some kibble around the house and let your dog search for it. Make a sand pit out of a clam shell and bury treats in for your dog to find.

Going to the local park throwing a ball or Frisbee is great exercise for your dog, and you can make them work harder by doing it on a gentle slope or hillside. Don’t throw sticks, as they can splinter and cause injury. Ball throwers are an easy way for you to get the ball to go further.
